The classic form of license in the use of Abaqus solver are tokens per core. The number of usable cores depends on the number of available tokens. If the tokens are full in use or if you want to perform simulations faster by using more cores, additional tokens are required. However, if the demand is only limited in time due to short-term occupancy peaks, the smallest rental unit was previously 3 months. With the cloud computing in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and the simulation credits, it is given the opportunity to carry out simulations in the cloud with up to 144 cores and to achieve billing of license fees down to the minute. This way, short-term license bottlenecks can be absorbed and it offers the possibility of calculating on up to 144 cores in the cloud.

This presentation will provide an insight into how the process of cloud computing with credits works and which options are supported as well as report on initial experiences, especially with regard to the computing speed.
